As we continue to expand our Elementary program, we are seeking an additional AMI-trained Elementary Lead Guide to join our team.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Montessori educator who feels called to the upper elementary child; someone who can lead a vibrant 9–12 classroom with both confidence and care.

This is a full-time Lead Guide position with responsibility for:

• Leading a Montessori elementary classroom (ages 9–12)

• Mentoring and directing a classroom assistant

• Preparing and maintaining a rich, ordered, and engaging environment

• Supporting each child’s academic, social, and emotional development

The ideal candidate is reflective, organized, and grounded in Montessori practice, with a strong ability to balance individualized learning, community leadership, and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and implement an authentic AMI Montessori elementary program

• Provide individualized instruction and ensure each child’s progress

• Maintain accurate, timely student records and documentation

• Establish a calm, respectful, and purposeful classroom culture

• Mentor and direct the classroom assistant

• Communicate professionally and effectively with families

• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership

• Participate in school events, conferences, and community activities

Qualifications

Required:

• AMI Elementary Diploma

• Strong understanding of Montessori elementary pedagogy

• Ability to meet all California licensing and background requirements

Preferred:

• 3–5+ years experience leading a Montessori elementary classroom

• California teaching credential (or equivalent experience)

• Experience working collaboratively with assistants and families

• Salary range: $78,000–$110,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

Position Details
