At NEW YORK MONTESSORI SCHOOL in Lawrence, Kansas, we are growing, and looking for two elementary guides to begin in the 2026-27 school year.
New York Montessori School is a public, neighborhood school. It is a vibrant, growing, student-centered community located in the lovely, eclectic city of Lawrence. We are committed to nurturing independent thinkers, compassionate citizens, and lifelong learners. Our well-equipped classrooms support a peaceful, purposeful environment where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are adding to our team and looking for passionate, experienced lower and upper elementary guides with either an AMI or AMS Diploma. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about fostering a love of learning, supporting children’s individual development, working collaboratively with parents and staff, and be willing to obtain Kansas teaching licensure.
As a public school within USD 497, we offer a full benefits package and licensure support. Candidates who hold, or are eligible for, an elementary state teaching license may receive fully funded Montessori training. Those with a Montessori elementary diploma who need additional university coursework for licensure are eligible for tuition assistance. Visa sponsorship is not available.

School description: New York Montessori School is a public, neighborhood school in the historic east side of Lawrence, KS. We began four years ago with three primary rooms. We currently have four primary and four lower elementary rooms. Next year we will begin building upper elementary as we grow to include fourth grade.
Lawrence is a university town with many resources located within walking distance. We are only 30 minutes from Kansas City.
