Classroom assistants

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Montessori Classroom Assistant to join our team. You will support the lead teacher in creating a calm, prepared environment that encourages exploration, concentration, and independence for children ages 3–6. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about Montessori education and enjoys working closely with children in a nurturing, hands-on setting.

Responsibilities:

• Support the lead teacher in daily classroom activities and Montessori lessons

• Prepare and maintain classroom materials and learning environments

• Observe and document children’s progress and developmental milestones

• Guide children in practical life, sensorial, and academic activities

• Promote a respectful, calm, and supportive classroom culture

• Assist with daily routines such as snack, transitions, and clean-up

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education or child development preferred

• Experience working with children, preferably in a Montessori setting

• Knowledge of Montessori philosophy and principles is a plus

• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children

Schedule:

• Full-time, 10-month school year

• Monday–Friday, typical school hours
