We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Upper Elementary Guide to join our team.
Position Overview: Montessori Elementary Guide
The Montessori Elementary Guide is responsible for leading a dynamic, child-centered learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of elementary-aged students. Guided by Montessori philosophy and practice, the Elementary Guide prepares and maintains a thoughtfully structured classroom that fosters independence, curiosity, collaboration, and a lifelong love of learning.
The Guide serves as both observer and facilitator, offering purposeful lessons, guiding students in self-directed work, and nurturing a respectful classroom community. Working in partnership with an assistant, families, and school leadership, the Elementary Guide supports each child’s growth while upholding the school’s mission and Montessori principles.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing and maintaining an engaging Montessori elementary environment aligned with developmental needs
- Presenting individual and small-group lessons across the elementary curriculum
- Observing, assessing, and documenting student progress to inform instruction
- Supporting social development, grace and courtesy, and peaceful conflict resolution
- Fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families
- Participating in ongoing professional development and school community activities
Qualifications:
- Montessori Elementary certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Upper Elementary classroom experience strongly preferred
- Passion for Montessori education and child development
- Strong classroom leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous growth
