Arbor Montessori School is accepting applications from candidates interested in working as a Lead Teacher in its Upper Elementary program (ages 9–12). Located just outside the city of Atlanta, Arbor Montessori School is in its 55th year and serves approximately 250 students ranging from 18 months to 14 years. Arbor is also launching the first Montessori high school in the metro Atlanta area in 2026. 

This position offers an opportunity to be part of a collaborative team of Montessori guides in a program that strongly adheres to Montessori philosophy and principles, specifically supporting the developmental needs of children in the second plane of development. The Upper Elementary environment emphasizes intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, independence, and moral development. Students engage in rigorous academic work that is integrated across subject areas and enriched by opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and purposeful work within the school community.

Teachers and students function as a community of learners grounded in mutual respect, accountability, and a shared commitment to growth. The Upper Elementary program encourages critical thinking, research, problem-solving, and real-world applications of learning, fostering both academic excellence and personal responsibility.

Applicants should hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and possess an AMI Elementary (6–12) Diploma. Previous experience teaching in a Montessori elementary classis required; experience working in an AMI Montessori setting is strongly preferred.
