Montessori Certified Elementary Teacher for 2026/2027

Versailles Montessori School, VMS, has an opening for a Lower Elementary teacher beginning with the 2026/2027 school year. We are looking for a caring, detail-oriented, relaxed adult with Montessori certification who wants a long-term teaching home.

Established in 1987, VMS is a non-profit located on ten beautiful acres of rolling bluegrass in the heart of Kentucky. Administration has Infant/Toddler and Early Childhood Montessori training and works with the trained head staff to make all pedagogical decisions. We are not a parent-run school.

We have two toddler programs, two primary programs, and a 1st-6th elementary program. School enrollment fluctuates between 90 and 110 students, supported by 17 to 18 staff/administrators. VMS runs a ten-month school year, August through May.

Our elementary program has ample space for outdoor activities and teaching. The classrooms are spacious and fully equipped with all Montessori materials. VMS is more like a second home than a workplace. If you are looking for a place to do authentic Montessori, and to be supported in a down-to-earth, practical way. VMS offers health/vision/dental/life insurance, as well as HSA and 403B retirement programs. Staff children attend at half tuition pricing. A 12-month salary is commensurate with experience. Versailles is 15 minutes west of Lexington and 45 minutes east of Louisville. A wide variety of cultural and sporting activities are abundant, and convenient rural and urban housing is available. Bluegrass Airport is 10 minutes from the school.
