Role Description

This is a full-time position, with the shift from 7:30a.m.-4p.m. ( Monday - Friday). The Infant guide will prepare the Montessori classroom environment and present the Montessori materials to infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months.  In addition, they will provide a safe and nurturing environment to ensure every child's well-being and engage with parents or caregivers to keep them abreast of their child's development.  The Infant Lead Guide will direct and collaborate with a team of two to three assistants throughout the day. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Associates degree, or Montessori certification
• Montessori training or experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Montessori Infant Teacher or in a similar role
• Thorough understanding of child development principles and a commitment to a child-centered approach to teaching

Responsibilities

• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with children, parents and caregivers
• Patience, creativity and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of infants
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience with child observation and assessment tools to inform and individualize learning experiences for infants
• Ability to work Collaboratively as a team
• Familiarity with state licensing requirements for early childhood education
